The part of the statement I question is the verb 'sending', as if it should be the parent's choice? Giving a young adult the autonomy to make a choice between post-secondary options without making a value judgment will serve them best.
Well by 18 it's their decision anyway but you get the point right... People in general need to stop undervaluing the labor force & stop believing social programming of status bc Every person/position at any company is necessary for the companies to run smoothly.
My kiddo joined the Army - was made to feel like a failure by his school and many around him. Has an amazing job in the Army & has knocked out a ton of college hrs- and has his GI Bill waiting. The “traditional” path is not right for all and in no way superior.
