Check out Joe's great summary of the weather this weekend. Regions that typically experience strong easterly gap winds #CascadiaWinds should be on the lookout #wawx

Just eyeballed what the PDX-BLI pressure gradient would have been if this storm had taken the perfect track at peak strength. It would have been 30mb. The strongest PDX-BLI gradient ever recorded was 22.7 on 10-21-1934. We should be thankful we are dodging that bullet. #wawx

Boy, if this big, beautiful Japanese 🍁 maple could talk. The gnarled branches, the graceful canopy...I wonder how old it is? Gorgeous! Thank you Debbie Sodl for sharing your lovely fall photographs from the serene Kubota Garden in South Seattle. #WAwx

An extremely comprehensive blog from Joe! Bottom line: this storm will bring several different rounds of wind to varying areas in Western WA as it tracks in and goes through its metamorphosis. Your local topography will play a HUGE role in either protecting or exposing you! #WAwx

Most will be spared from big winds as the storm weakens and stays offshore. However, look out if you’re in the EPS Foothills. Cascadia winds will be a problem. #wawx

(1/4) A mid-latitude cyclone is expected to rapidly intensify tonight & Sunday. As this system undergoes bombogenesis, a powerful wind field will take shape & approach the PNW. Get ready for an active day Sunday west of the Cascades. #ORwx #WAwx

By now, you may have heard what about a 'bomb' off the Pacific NW coast. What the heck is that? Well, in weather lingo, a 'bomb' is used to describe a rapidly deepening storm, where the storm's pressure drops 24+ mb (millibars) within a 24 hour period. #pdxtst #orwx #wawx
