Stephen Donnelly "hopes" all maternity hospitals will comply with fathers' access. The worry is why he cannot ORDER them to so do.
Why not, is precisely the reason women are so concerned about the St. Vincents/NMH situation in providing all healthcare.
Our campaign is reorganising and re-energising. We haven't gone away and we won't be going away. Stay tuned over the coming weeks for details of how you can get involved in making our new National Maternity Hospital public and secular. Nothing less will do. #MakeNMHOurs
I. Am. Done. I have spent the best part of the last year fighting tooth and nail for #BetterMaternityCare for partners of pregnant people in maternity services. But GAA gets 25 THOUSAND people for a match. While women are going through a hugely vulnerable health journey alone.
🏟️ 40,000 fans will be allowed in the Croke Park for the All Ireland Finals.
🏟️ 24,000 fans will be allowed in for the All Ireland Semi Finals.
🏟️ 25,000 fans will be allowed in for the Republic of Ireland matches with Serbia and Azerbaijan.
India has a great maternity leave policy of 6 mths, including for foreign faculty. This means I have no teaching & admin tasks. Of course a research grp is like a small start-up so the show must go on but grateful it is at my own pace 🙏🏻 @VoicesofIndAcad@mothersinsci@Momademia
I'm utterly dismayed by maternity restrictions because of Covid.
Women should be able to have their partners with them for care and for childbirth.
There are ways to mitigate risk when we decide something is important enough.
Women's maternity care is important enough.
Working mothers have a difficult time managing breastfeeding, so if we want a healthy breastfed child, the first step would be to increase the duration of maternity leave.
Protect breastfeeding: a shared responsibility
No control over whether partners can accompany women in maternity services, no control over whether maternity hospitals provide abortions, yet apparently the Govt would have control over our new National Maternity Hospital if governed by Sisters of Charity? #BetterMaternityCare
Pregnant women are calling for restrictions around maternity services to be eased and for a support partner to be present throughout the birthing process
