Legislate at least 10 #PaidSickDays if you expect people to do this.

Good morning. Who else is planning #CovidVaccine boosters for essential workers? It’s been 6 month. (Recall, they don’t have #PaidSickDays). Parents of young children and ppl with disabilities should have access to a 3rd dose, too. I’ve booked my patients. Your move, @fordnation.

REMINDER: Ford voted against permanent employer-provided #PaidSickDays that cover all illnesses and injuries 26 times. Temporarily extending his 3 paid sick days plan that only covers COVID is the least he could do. #Justice4Workers #WorkingForWorkers

PLEASE, DO NOT GATHER INDOORS THIS HOLIDAY SEASON. Don’t respond, “But it is allowed.” Sure, the politicians who won’t acknowledge #COVIDisAirborne, who say there are no school outbreaks, who turn a blind eye to deaths in LTC, and vote against #PaidSickDays, they say, “Go ahead.”

Covid cases are on the rise in Ontario. Still, many workers do not have #PaidSickDays, hence people go to work sick. Instead, we have Bill 124 which targets female-dominated professions. Thank you @NewsguyNick @Jennifer_Hsiung @CP24 for the coverage.

Omicron is here now. Is anyone still talking about the need for 10 permanent #paidsickdays in Ontario or should workers just keep going to work sick?

She's a nurse. She takes care of sick people. Yet, she has no #PaidSickDays. Tell me how anyone thinks this is okay.

The Federal Bill for 10 #PaidSickDays for federal workers is set to arrive by 2022. There is a provision that allows employers to seek sick notes to access time off. Sick notes delay recovery, is unnecessary and a waste of everyone’s time. Remove this provision. Trust workers.

@YoniFreedhoff Also a good day to announce that we can give #CovidVaccine boosters to everyone 18 and over. Essential workers (who don’t have #PaidSickDays) could really use some support.

Doug Ford gives billions to big business & leaves working Ontarians behind - again. While hospitals reached capacity & workers waited on #paidsickdays almost $1B in COVID relief went to businesses that weren’t eligible or who lost less than they were given. SHAME! #onlab #onpoli

Like last winter, Ontario's #COVID19 cases are on the rise & have the potential to put add+ strain on our healthcare system. The @fordnation govt must accelerate vaccinations for kids 5-11 & booster shot eligibility, expand access to rapid testing, make #paidsickdays permanent…

@MeganALeslie This empowers people instead of blaming “individual behaviour” when infections occur. We really missed the bus here. We should have normalized regular testing. Now people are afraid to test because they don’t have sufficient #PaidSickDays Omicron will be a rough wake up call.

How can any essential workers quarantine without 10 #PaidSickDays ?

The federal government introduced new legislation that provide ten days of paid sick leave per year to workers in the federally regulated private sector. With Ontario's temporary program set to expire, many are calling for similar action in the province. @DaleManucdoc explains.

Sad to see families that had been so cautious last year & kept their kids remote are now sending kids to school while sick/waiting for covid results. Last year they were working from home; this year they aren’t & w/no paid time off = more in-school spread. We need #PaidSickDays

Glad to see @fordnation give into collective pressure as the pandemic rages on. But 3 days extended is not enough, when quarantine is 14 days & COVID isn't the only reason for emergency leave. 10 PERM #PaidSickDays off a year is a workers' right but one Ford keeps saying no to.

Medical professionals and public health experts have been clear -- sick notes "delay recovery" and create unnecessary barriers. Workers need seamless, adequate #PaidSickDays. Let's not overcomplicate this. #Justice4Workers

Legislating a permanent #PaidSickDays program is the right thing to do 👏 The federal govt. have the opportunity to introduce model legislation on paid sick day policy that ensures seamless access for our patients. That means no sick notes!
