I often wonder if any of the “kids will be fine” “Omicron is mild” crowd pause to think about the consequences if they are wrong.
If those of us who do not share that view are wrong, the consequence is cleaner air & airborne mitigations for a period of time.

The tragic irony is that the notion that Omicron is less serious is true only if you are vaccinated.
If it stops people getting vaccinated (and vaccination take up is now stalling for young and old alike) then it makes Omicron more serious.
