To those who told me yesterday I couldn't have picked my own lemons as they don't grow in Ireland here is my lemon tree growing happily in my kitchen over winter. I put it back into the glasshouse from April to November #growyourownfood #giy

Six-year-old Mary Boyle went missing from her grandparents' small dairy farm in a remote area of County Donegal in Ireland on 18 March 1977, the day after St Patrick's Day. She was never seen again. #StopKillingUs

Where do we as Irish women direct our anger and sadness and fear? We have got to rise up and demand change in memory of #AshlingMurphy and all of the women whose lives were stolen before her. There isn’t a woman in Ireland who isn’t sick to the pit of their stomach today.

The women of Ireland are fed up. From our grandmothers, educated in Latin and the catechism, but not about menstruation, locked up whether they fell prey to a neighbour or ‘chose to commit a mortal sin’, as if either were crimes, as if they deserved a life in an institution.

If you had an hours vigil for each women killed by a man in Ireland (since 1996) you'd be there for just under two weeks.

RTÉ please- detail matters. Since early this morning I’ve been listening to how today marks the “end of British rule in Ireland”… Clumsy, insensitive and inaccurate. There is a lot of celebrate today but let’s not forget that the island was and remains partitioned.

Stunningly accurate even in 1972. Bernadette Devlin (MP for Mid Ulster in Northern Ireland 1969-1974) explains culture of U.K. Parliament. "When we break the law, we go to jail. When the government breaks the law, the government changes the law."
