@ladydrgna Same 😬
Not sure if its my asexuality but anything sexual even if just smut i like like to keep to myself. Having it all there for people that i know irl is just a big nope. On twitter its a little different because there are so many that are asexual to so theres no judgement💜
@SylviaWoodham I didn't reference asexuality or Christians condemning them. I don't see this as an issue.
If I was mansplaining I wouldn't have begun with "I think". I'd have said something like "I know you're being militantly defensive", for example.
Yes, you can be hypersexual and asexual. Asexuality is a lack of sexual attraction to other people, while hypersexuality has to do with intrusive thoughts, heightened libido, sexualizing one's self, and more.
Singlism is aphobic, anti-asexuality and arophobic in general. It’s not just the fact that asexuality and aromanticism are pathologized and looked at as depression and low libido, it’s targeted financially. Aces and aros (also aroaces) are monetarily punished for being single.
It’s not “mean” or “cold” for someone to say they have no sexual or romantic attraction.
Asexuality and aromanticism are sexual orientations. People don’t have to “prove” anything to you. Even if they weren’t real (and they are, this is hypothetical) no means no.
There’s overlap between the asexual and bisexual/pansexual communities. It’s time we recognized that.
This is understudied, but some people identify as both bi/pan AND asexual.
So if you’re talking about bisexuality, you’re talking about asexuality too.
As it’s asexuality week I’d just like to say I don’t really understand asexuality and as such it is my duty to shut the fuck up and not offer an opinion seeing as I don’t know anything about it. See, journos, it’s that easy.
I've received a lot of comments/DMs/emails from people thanking me for writing about 1) single people and 2) ace people — which underlines that we really need more reporting that takes both of those experiences into account
Amatonormativity runs systemically deep to the point the bodily autonomy and finances of aces and aros are overlooked, especially towards sex repulsed aroaces. Our rights have been under attack for decades. Singlism is classism, anti-asexuality, anti-aromanticism and acephobia.
