Katie Couric says she cut quotes from an interview with RBG in 2016 where the SCOTUS Justice said that kneeling during the National Anthem shows a "contempt for a government that has made it possible for their parents & grandparents to live a decent life."

It's quite something that @katiecouric is the one cancelling herself.

#KatieCouric is the epitome of Fake News. Sadly, I know this from personal experience. I was injured in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom & medevaced to Walter Reed. During my recovery, Katie Couric reached out to me to be on her show about PTSD.

Couric writes that she wanted to protect RBG and so she edited out RBG saying that those who kneel during the national anthem are showing 'contempt for a government that has made it possible for their parents and grandparents to live a decent life.'

Completely indefensible for Katie Couric to withhold this from the public to protect a *sitting Supreme Court Justice*

In Katie Couric's new book, which comes out next week, she includes a text message she sent to Matt Lauer in which she made a joke about him putting a drug in her drink. This was 21 days before he was fired by NBC for "inappropriate sexual behavior."

It is one of the temptations of journalism to protect those you favor. Couric was urged not to do this by the former president of ABC News, himself a news anchor. It was the right advice.

The media assumes it is up to them to decide what the public knows and doesn’t know instead of reporting the truth. Transparency and honesty have not existed for a long time.

Another reminder today, with the whole Katie Couric/RBG/taking a knee revelations, that Sonia Sotomayor is in fact the most liberal and progressive Supreme Court Justice of our era. #justsayin #sorrynotsorry

RBG was a trailblazer who had no problem sharing her views no matter who disagreed with her. Don't think she needed Katie Couric to "protect" her.

If only someone would have warned us, multiple times, that Katie Couric has a tendency to deceptively edit her interviews.

RBG’s legacy is fine - she didn’t need Katie Couric protecting her And it’s perfectly fine to disagree with someone we admire - we’re not a cult like those MAGA losers
