Eternal verities: Football is the beautiful game, The Jam are the greatest band. And Britain is good enough to govern itself.

8 years each, out in 4 for killing a baby. Over 60 broken bones including 41 to the ribs. Go on, justify the death sentence.

Covid patients in hospital down to 16,149, 3.5k below the Jan 12 peak. And half of them are not primarily in for Covid anyway. Just went down the Co-op unmasked. Hardly anyone else was wearing a mask. Bit of blue sky. Not so cold. Still light. How'm I doing?

Spicy intervention here by the Bow Group.

"The Bow Group was the first organisation to call for an investigation into these goings on in Number 10 Downing Street in February 2021, because it is clear that the role of Carrie Symonds, now Carrie Johnson, has been central to these scandals."

Starmer still won't call for a general election while Boris Johnson is in place so the British people can decide between them. Extraordinary.

I want to see the Gray report in full. Our country faces huge challenges and itโ€™s offensive that the Governmentโ€™s sole focus is on cleaning up after themselves. Britain deserves better. The Prime Minister is unfit for office and must resign.

The situation with the Met is extremely messy, but Iโ€™m told by several sources itโ€™s not the only factor holding all of this up, there is a lot of wrangling inside govt and Cabinet Office over how and what is published

Given Jeremy Hunt's ongoing ambitions, it looks like there will be two home counties Remainers from wealthy establishment backgrounds in the next Tory leadership race. Which in terms of Red Wall optics could be two too many.
