I am an appellate lawyer and persnickety dude. As a hobby, I correct typos in the Times, which no longer employs copy editors and consequently has tons of typos

I don't want to get anyone fired during a pandemic, but when one lawyer chilling in his apartment can make the biggest paper in the world delete 5 tweets a day because of dumb typos and grammatical errors, shouldn't that paper hire a less crappy social media team?

@nytimes Under your style guide, @GretchenReynold, you lowercase titles unless they immediately precede the names of their bearers.

@nytimes "warm up" and "cool down" are hyphenated when they're nouns, @taraparkerpope; they're only two words when you're using them as verbs. Bonus extra space.

@NYTSports "a graceful, fluid swing that sent the soaring toward the left-field fence" is missing "ball" before "soaring," @alanblinder, @BenHoffmanNYT, @gwenknapp. "93 mile an hour cutters" should be "93-mile-an-hour cutters."

They're not hearing arguments "starting on Nov. 1"; they're hearing arguments on November 1 for an hour or two at 10 a.m.

@nytimes “the 1980s and 90s” should be “the 1980s and ’90s,” @aoscott, @gilbertcruz. The 1980s and 90s means the 1980s and the tenth decade of someone’s life.

I got one of the accounts tweeting about disable peoples to “correct” the tweet to disabled peoples; apparently they didn't get that peoples' is not the possessive of people, but only that of plural ethnonational peoples

@NYTNational The last "with" is a typo in "The film’s director, John Landis, was charged with involuntary manslaughter in connection with the deaths, as were with four other members of the film crew, including the helicopter pilot," @derrickbryson, @palafo.

@nytimes "we are here to help them navigate the risks they face and want them take good care of themselves" is Times Pidgin for lack of "to" before "take." On the right, an ungrammatically omitted comma after an appositive modifier. @LDamour

@nytimes As previously noted, @danilyst, "use" should be "require" in "the benefits of using CBD tend to use much larger doses, in contrast, typically between 400 and 600 milligrams." The benefits of CBD don't use CBD. People or preparations of CBD use CBD to enjoy benefits.
