@nytimes I read this thinking his sat phone must've broken or something but no, he just didn't bring one. That's dumb af. Glad he's safe and hope nobody goes back to bother the bears.

@nytimes Just one side of the story here. How do we know he wasn't stalking the bear? Or that it was the bear that signaled SOS, and was heartbroken when the helicopter "saved" the human, leaving the bear alone and scared?
