Where do I even begin with this? The United States has one of the highest maternal and infant mortality rates of all developed nations. Forcing a woman to go through pregnancy puts her life and health at risk — especially for women of color.

I am not at all surprised that Democrats are sending around clips of MTG hollering to shut down the government.

In #marijuana news: Ohio Republican @RepDaveJoyce is teaming up with New York Democratic Rep. @AOC to introduce a bill that “aims to help states with expunging cannabis offenses by reducing the financial and administrative burden of such efforts through federal grants.”

Apparently you need a full minute in order to give a House leader that "magic minute" where they talk as long as they want. Steny Hoyer got cut off because Dems only had 30 seconds left. (Ken Calvert graciously yielded Hoyer a Republican minute.)

Odd. For 2nd time today I've heard a Republican complain of Dems being slow cos they tried to negotiate. Rep. Ken Calvert (R-CA): "The Democratic Party controls the House. They control the Senate and they control the White House. If they want to pass an omnibus bill, pass it."

Another R suggests only the vaccine wary are real Americans. Chip Roy: "These are our neighbors, our relatives, our friends- maybe not for some of you who go home to double-masked people driving by themselves in vacant vaccine passport cities- but these are real Americans."

Collins says today she read "some of the press accounts" but has not yet reviewed the oral arguments from SCOTUS on abortion. Also says she won't be commenting until after the decision is rendered, which may not happen until next summer

Susan Collins on abortion hearing and Kavanaugh: “I did not see his questioning or hear any of the arguments. I hope to later tonight play them so I have first hand knowledge…but so can’t comment about what I didn’t see.” “I’m for Roe,” she said when asked about its future

DURBIN to me on shutdown chances in past minutes: "The report from Schumer, which is different from before, is that Republican leadership wants to get this resolved. They don't want to wear the collar of shutting down the government. They're trying to convince Senator Lee."

And what's wrong with testing? Roger Marshall: "I've talked to hundreds of business owners back home, and they think it's almost impossible to do that.. And frankly, some of those people don't want to be tested, either."
