Sandy Lake First Nation Chief Delores Kakegamic told me three kids, aged 5 to 9, died in the fire. Their mom and 3 other kids escaped. The Chief said the fire hydrants weren't working. "The fire hydrants never work around here," she said.

This guy planned for months to kill a random BABY for shock value. He stabbed the baby’s mom in the neck, she nearly died but an ER doc happened to be in the same parking lot who helped. And another stranger tackled the wannabe killer while he was punching the baby.
Some interesting details from the report Marineland gave us about its trip to the site of the proposed Whale Sanctuary Project, which refutes the tourist park’s assertions the bay is toxic. Shellfish fishing is banned due to toxins found in them.
There have been several whale deaths at the facility, although no one knows for sure how many (I've asked many times, but have not heard back), but in the case above, Marineland said the whale deaths are not due to the water.
Marineland says the sanctuary won't be ready to receive whales "for years, if ever."
"Marineland cannot and will not transfer whales into an environment where they may be abandoned due to financial issues of the WSP...." the park said.
Marineland said it will defend itself in court. "Marineland of Canada Inc.’s educational presentation was designed by experts to provide Canadians with an accessible opportunity to learn about marine life."
Marineland has been charged by local police over its dolphin and whale shows. The corporation faces one count of using "a captive cetacean for performance for entertainment purposes without authorization pursuant to a licence contrary to 445.2(4) of the Criminal Code."
