We've just posted one of the most alluring jobs in health journalism -- as a roving national correspondent covering the most pressing themes facing the US as it emerges from the pandemic. https://t.co/gJOpmtwCaR

Ok, so maybe it's true that New York City is back. "A small selection of tacos, made with squash blossom and crispy octopus, are priced between $16 to $22 each." https://t.co/vpTnUezldy

After having now edited both the NY to shutdown and NY fully reopens stories, I can say that one was much more fun to do than the other.

All but four NYC ZIP codes have a positive test rate under 1.50 percent in the latest stats update. The two highest ZIP codes (at 2.70 and 1.73 percent) both don't have an adequate testing sample. The highest number of cases (27) is in a ZIP code in the Bronx.

Today in "journalism dreams come true," I spent the last few months talking to legends of the @nytimes about how they broke the bombshell scoop of the Pentagon Papers. Secret rooms, stolen documents, astronomical room service bills: This story has it all. https://t.co/t8b9chmpI9

The state's three-year contract with I.B.M. could cost as much as $17 million and would include a Phase 2 use for the app that has yet to be revealed. https://t.co/pDuNGpVNxI

Highest positive test rate in a ZIP code in the city is down to 2.02. No ZIP had more than 22 cases in the 7-day stat period. But several are now showing insufficient testing. Testing overall down from about 60,000 PCR tests per day in early April to about 34,000 now.

#BREAKING: Most remaining COVID restrictions will be lifted when 70% of adult New Yorkers have received at least one dose of the COVID vaccine. We’re only 1.4% away from hitting that goal. Get vaccinated.

No NYC ZIP code has a higher positive test rate than 2.52 percent, according to the latest data update. Only two are above 2 percent. No ZIP code had more than 23 cases during the 7-day period. Remarkable turnaround.

Since May 27, NYC has been averaging administering less than 40,000 vaccine doses per day. It's the first time since late February that the average was under 40k.
