As Senate Judiciary Chair Durbin said, it’s very rare to force a roll call vote on a US attorney nominee: “the Committee has only ever held a roll call vote on three U.S. Attorney nominees—in 1993, 1982, and 1975.”

Fellow @ZehraTopbas1 writes about the challenges of uncovering judicial misconduct in a system that is "secretive, opaque and sometimes operating on an informal code of silence." w/ thanks to @PhoebePetrovic, @deejhall, @johnson_carrie & @LiseDigger

So, military families, Trump staff, secret service, reporters, the current president, all subjected to being around someone who looked sick and did in fact test positive

It's treated as an afterthought in this piece but trump also went ahead with this event too... "On Sunday 27 September, the first day between the tests and the debate, Meadows says Trump did little – except playing golf in Virginia and staging an event for military families"

I'm not going to sugar coat it, I shed some tears today when @NoelKing announced she was leaving. But I can't count all the ways she has made me a better journalist. I will miss you my friend. And damn, Vox, what a hire.

A civil lawsuit alleges that the Massachusetts Parole Board is not following a state law that allows people to seek an end to their parole after a period of time. "This statute exists on paper, but not in reality," the complaint reads.

On Thanksgiving 1941, DDC judge Louis Oberdorfer enjoyed dinner with his wife. A few days later, he was called to duty after Pearl Harbor. He served on DDC from 1977 to 2013 and worked for DOJ during the Kennedy administration. Read his oral history:
