basing the merits of afghan refugees, or any refugees for that matter, on their economic contribution to a host nation is vile. this is shameful. especially when the host nation, the US, is one of many responsible for the violence that people are fleeing.

.@NBCJoshua there are afghans that can share lived experiences as well as reasons for why and how the everyday US citizen should stand with afghans (those fleeing and those remaining). why you gave a platform to someone outside our community to dehumanize us is unsettling

@hqdada Afghans deserve resettlement in the US without question bc they are human beings. No one needs to offer gross justifications about any Afghan's 'economic value' to a country that invaded, occupied, and destroyed their homeland.
