Proud son of Brownsville, retired NYPD captain, former State Sen., current BK Borough Pres, & next Mayor of New York City. Contact: info@ericadams2021.com
Today, I'm sharing my story like I’ve never told it before:
It starts right here in NYC, growing up poor & on the brink of eviction. Then at 15, I was the victim of police brutality -- but instead of accepting things as they were, I was determined to change them. https://t.co/Y4GyCNxIdD
This pandemic has challenged all of us in countless ways -- but it takes tremendous courage to speak openly about those challenges & face them head on. Sending you strength and all of my support on this journey. https://t.co/Vs0tEGoKXT
The COVID pandemic has affected people in different ways. I regret to say that I developed a drinking problem. What used to be mainly a social activity, and a way to cope with stress, has now become too frequent and self-destructive.
In addition to welcoming Rep. @Tom_Suozzi@UFOA854 and Former Bronx Borough President Freddy Ferrer to #TeamAdams, here are just a few of the supporters that I’m so proud to get to work alongside as we fight for a safer, healthier future for NYC. ⤵️ https://t.co/1gd90nriiJ
Next time you’re in Williamsburg, be sure to stop by Napoli Bakery on Metropolitan Ave., a family-owned business that’s been serving the community for nearly 50 years! #SmallBusinessShoutouthttps://t.co/08Arx7chY0
“We share the same passion for fairness, for equity, for progress.”
From one Borough President to another, I’m so proud to have Freddy Ferrer on #TeamAdams! https://t.co/z5kjF6D7t1
The video of the shooting of Adam Toledo is horrific—but we cannot turn away. We failed this young man on so many levels. He was just 13-years-old — another life cut short. This has to stop.

As I told @USAToday: Police departments often know who is & isn't cut out for high-stress roles. Ending police violence begins with taking the bias out of policing -- & having the right officers with the right skills & unbiased mindset on the street.

It’s humbling to visit places of faith like the West Side Institutional Synagogue and see people’s commitment to their faith and religion. https://t.co/njd2B8x7PA
On this day in 1947, Jackie Robinson played his first Major League game as a Brooklyn Dodger, breaking the MLB's color barrier and paving the way for future generations of Black athletes around the country. #JackieRobinsonDay
Today, thousands of Jews traveled to Hungary to pray at the gravesite of Rabbi Reb Shaya of Keristir. He was well known for feeding the poor and lifting the downtrodden. We should aspire to continue his legacy by being more giving and helping those in need. https://t.co/Lg4xQomn33
Imagine peeking into an airplane cockpit & not finding a single instrument panel -- no tools to gauge velocity, altitude, etc.
You’d get the heck off that plane!
Well, the same is true when you're running a complicated piece of machinery called a City.
We can’t fly blind. https://t.co/CVMZagqEJ1
Thank you to Eric Adams (@ericadamsfornyc) and Kathryn Garcia (@KGforNYC) for joining us today for a student-led conversation about law, leadership, and the key challenges and priorities for the next New York City Mayor. https://t.co/cpb2PjHm0L
Freddy inspired an entire generation of New Yorkers from working class communities and communities of color to enter public service, and I count myself among the many who benefited from the example he set.
It's why I'm so grateful for, and humbled by, his support. https://t.co/4XkUpCPxQV
I had the opportunity to once again meet with my good friends, the leaders of @centralbobov, to discuss working together toward positive change for the diverse communities in our great city. https://t.co/7jJaxMt1o0
Now more than ever we need a leader who is focused on keeping our riders and @TWULocal100 safe.
Currently waiting for the G train at the Metropolitan Ave subway station. https://t.co/63VBl21Zf2
It was an absolute pleasure meeting with you, Eytan! At this pivotal moment, our young people deserve more than simply to be heard -- they deserve a seat at the table. I look forward to continuing our conversation & addressing the issues that matter most to you. https://t.co/N2gXTT0jwf
Had a great time walking and talking with @ericadamsfornyc yesterday! It was very good to meet him in person and talk with him about the importance for young people to get involved with their communities and be politically engaged starting at a young age! https://t.co/21erLSKTQk
Since today’s still a filing deadline for certain workers, here’s some #TaxDay math: Did you know that under my NYC AID plan, households making $30,000 or less would see their matching EITC from the City boosted to 60% of their federal return? https://t.co/ANqaMG2c9p
