The best thing young people can do early in their careers is unionize their workplace

They’re laughing at us. Clowning us. Mocking us from their yachts. Year after year. Decade after decade. Get deep into union building and other working class organization/collective struggle to transform this system at the root. Enough with the superficial reform and charity. https://t.co/AlQn6ni2bY

The billionaires are right to target Alexa Avilés. Her allegiance is deep to working people in her community and she knows how to work in partnership to move difficult justice goals to the finish line. Therefore, she is a threat to their predatory corporate agenda.

Doughnut Workers United has a lot to be proud of and the fight is just getting started. Rest and strength to these workers and shame on the bosses. The struggle most definitely continues. https://t.co/3aoWQzyV04

Update: Unfortunately after the vote count yesterday, of counted ballots we ended in a tie, with ballots contested by the company set aside still unopened and several outstanding Unfair Labor Practices in the works. https://t.co/wtUelVIq2b

When union-busters talk about what "you can lose" by forming a union they're playing into a powerful insight from behavioral economics. People tend to value not losing something more than potential gains. We need strong inoculation and strong plan to win to overcome.

The gambling theme and clip art alone should sink the bosses' nasty campaign. https://t.co/CA0iwcew3K

Making invisible work, visible. Is the work of racial justice. Is the work of gender justice. This is the unionism we need. 😭😭❤️ https://t.co/tG4uEdXwJz

Big issues of rank & file agency and union democracy in a strike that shut down a global automaker's largest truck factory. We need to be talking more about and supporting bold Volvo workers. Struggling against a corporation and union officials is hard. https://t.co/0owUMnwKBL https://t.co/gj87PRSebN

@dgorganize The union leadership is actively working to keep the rank and file from speaking out to press, they've had a wall of silence this whole time and only recently has the union president felt pressured to speak to press to try to control the narrative.

Is it just me or does worker energy in our economy seem very alive and well after the courageous attempt of the Amazon workers in Bessemer?

Unionism still works without a standard CBA because the power of unions is derived from deep worker organization and ability to idle production. You don't need to be militant or strike ready every day. You do need a structure and the ability to get strike ready when needed.

I remember hearing about these firings as a junior in college and thinking, "I'm going to get fired if I work there." I remain hopeful that this case lands a win for labor rights activists in tech https://t.co/ziDtuSHO7k

The hackers didn't know that in the labor movement important business is conducted by fax.

I hope with the Pulitzer that Darnella Frazier takes in some deeply deserved appreciation and peace for her courage and impact. Black folks were earliest and most vocal calling for her to receive one.

“The added cases could expand US employees’ legal rights to protest the societal impact of their company’s work … This reflects a growing movement among rank-&-file tech workers who are pushing to have a say in how their work is used.” #NoGCPforCBP https://t.co/KeMXQNAufF

NEW: The NLRB added three more fired Google workers to its growing complaint against the company for allegedly retaliating against employee activism. The case could end up changing the scope of what you're legally allowed to say at work.   https://t.co/SQfLsjlXMk
