Daft report this week; only 851 homes available to rent IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY. This website, which tracks AirBnB listings, has 15,657 entire homes available for short term rentals. I'm not saying AirBnB is causing the housing crisis, but it's not helping!

@crazyhouseprice Airbnb needs to be regulated similar as to why Uber hasn't been able to be successful in Ireland.

@BobofDublin @crazyhouseprice It is regulated, Airbnb’s cant be used for more than 90 days in a year before the property needs a change of use application. You’re paying a couple of hundred thousand euro in taxes for a team that regulated this.

@crazyhouseprice Surely a tweak in the tax code away from short term lets and in favour of small landlords is a simple answer ,

@crazyhouseprice Plenty of house buyers being outbid in Sligo Town by investors who then use the house as AirBnBs - I could point out several examples in resedential areas/estates in the town - it's ridiculous.

@crazyhouseprice We desperately need planning enforcement, I would love to take the time to cross check all of these against their respective local planning and report any and all that don't have change of use planning granted (but not sure the councils would take action either though)
