I know an amazing teacher who left a permanent position in a school in Dublin for the same reason. This is going to be the next crisis. I know others who turned down permanent positions in Dublin 2 years ago as they couldn't afford to rent here and things are far worse now.

And yet the advice often given to those who complain about Dublin prices is to move to somewhere more affordable. Well this is the direct result of that. Dublin needs all walks of life and all professions, and they all need somewhere to live.

A friend’s September start crèche spot was cancelled last week. Her profession she might have to delay returning too? Teaching.
@crazyhouseprice
Got a call from a crèche yesterday saying they have to push out their intake dates by a month minimum as their staff can’t find places to live so have to leave the country
This, from an email to parents of students at a secondary school in

shows that teachers are opting to leave Dublin due to the
#CostOfLivingCrisis
and the

and how schools in Dublin are struggling to recruit replacements.
Sinn Féin’s Motion in the Dáil tonight is a shameless act of populism.
To date, €2.4 billion in measures have been implemented to ease the cost of living, and we will do more into the future.
Excellent deep-dive here on the corporate landlords who are getting millions of euro from Housing Assistance Payment (HAP).
Since such a large chunk of Ires Reit's rent roll comes from HAP, it appears HAP is propping up high rents in Dublin
Long read on Strategic Housing Developments and the State's appalling record defending them in the courts. 35 have been decided thus far, and An Bord Pleanala has lost 32 of them. A familiar name voted on all 32 that were lost - one Paul Hyde
€2,400/month renting out 1 room in their house. The students get some cereal in the morning and not allowed in the kitchen after 9.30am. This is extortionate and preying on vulnerable students who have nowhere else to go. The greed in this country is sickening.

Okay.Anyone interested in tips in ensuring your house is ready for sale? I keep getting people coming to me after the auctioneer had done the deal and THEN the issues come to light. Leading to delays and sometimes failure of sale ?

“no clear method which could show the number of additional units arising from the HTB scheme”.
Been saying this for years. All HTB does is increase prices. I have lots of examples here:
