EMPA-CKD-full results not out but GFR threshold was lower than previous trials with eGFR>20. Albuminuria threshold was not rqd unless eGFR>45. The trial was stopped early for efficacy but would be interested in non-proteinuric and Stage 4 CKD subgroup data

Impressive results for clinical endpoints for SGLT2I on acute HF- preserved or reduced EF, DM or no DM; no major safety signals - begs the question on what the mechanism might be as it likely is multifaceted

[Why] is furosemide susceptible to malabsorption from "gut edema"?
When a patient with heart failure is hospitalized with congestion I often hear "let's use IV furosemide; they're probably not absorbing the PO."
It's a comment unique to furosemide.
But is it accurate?

FDA approves 1st drug to ⬇️ urine protein in IgA nephropathy - Tarpeyo (ER budesonide). In a trial on IgAN pts with eGFR>=35 and UPCR>=0.8, Budesonide ⬇️ proteinuria by 35% vs 5% by placebo over 9 months. Improvement in GFR hasn’t been demonstrated yet.
