Breadtube is named after Kropotkin's conquest of bread because it was originally a reddit term for obscure anarchist youtubers like myself. It somehow ended up referring to every leftist youtuber in existence and then morphed into referring to famous youtubers people get mad at.

As a category breadtube no longer makes any sense. Its more like a discourse producing machine whereby people can complain about a tiny number of youtubers as if they were a unified whole, rather than an arbitrary selection based on who people happen to know of.
