For Teachers/Therapists: I worked in a CT elementary school when Sandy Hook happened.
What helped: We had our kids draw pictures of scenery that made them feel calm—we then hung them up around the school—to make the “other kids who were scared” have something calm to look at.

There was an assault weapons ban in place for ten years (expired in 2004) no surprise it reduced # deaths from assault weapons. The majority to 2/3 of the public support it.

I went to school today.
I taught 6th grade
then 4th grade
then 3rd grade
then had lunch
then taught 6/7 mix grade
then had after school hall duty
then got in my car and thought
I had some behavior issues with 3rd and 7th grade but overall a good day because none of us were shot.
