SANTA IS COMING TO TOWN!

As you’re preparing that wonderful Thanksgiving meal, don’t forget your food!
Many of the kitchen fires we respond to are a result of food being forgotten and left unattended.
…also make sure those smoke alarms are working, just in case. 😉
Sometimes we have patients who are the purrrrfect size to get stuck in a drain pipe.
Neighbors heard meowing & called us this morning to help find this little one. Luckily, crews were able to safely get the kitten out of the pipe, cleaned up & sent to be checked out.
More trains will now pass through Lakewood, many at high speed. Safety at crossings is essential. Drivers and pedestrians should respect crossing alarms and keep clear of tracks. @NHTSAgov offers important advice, "Stop. Trains can't."
We had a nice time at our monthly "pit stop social" for Lakewood seniors. It's something we started to do during the pandemic, but folks seem to enjoy dropping by for a goodie bag and a quick conversation.
Officers are conducting Emphasis and Education Patrols at the Railroad Crossings in the City. Our goal is to remind drivers of the dangers with stopping on the railroad tracks in preparation for the resumption of high speed passenger trains that will take place this morning.
High speed train service resumes starting today and impacts Lakewood drivers and pedestrians. These trains will come through at 79 miles per hour.
There are many crossings within the city and paying close attention is key.
Passenger train service resumes along the Point Defiance Bypass route on Thursday, Nov. 18. That means that high-speed train traffic will pass through Lakewood again.
Remember to stop for signals and keep clear of the tracks.
