My Ready Writers did not place, but that does not dull my knowledge of their brilliance! My Literary Criticism team did well, placing as 4th place team overall. But only 1st and 2nd go on to State. Last year we placed 3rd at Regionals. Next year will be OUR YEAR!!

This PRECIOUS and BRILLIANT young lady won 1st place Middle School award IN THE STATE HOSA competition in Galveston.She loves to write, and I mentor her in her efforts.However, we have spent our time the past two months preparing her speech! So very proud of her!

So I credibly proud of my Word Wizards 🧙♀️ (Ready Writers) and my Wonder Wits (Lit Criticism). Both teams took 1st place team at our District meet. On to Regionals!!! My Falcons Soar!!!

UIL goes on in a Covid World! The Lit Crit Wonder Wits are claiming 1st a many individual awards and my Ready Writers are doing the same. Falcons Soar!! They are a joy to coach!

UIL Lit Crit begins again! Congrats to my LFHS team taking 1st place TEAM and to Karla Zambrano, top score individual over all. No team pic this time as they were competing in other events, too, and WINNING! 💜💜💜

As a UIL coach, your goal is to get your students to STATE. It is a hard journey—especially this year! So very proud of Kiara García for earning 2nd place in 6A Literary Criticism in the STATE OF TEXAS. It is profoundly challenging! She was open to learning & hard work. 🏆🙌🏻💜

My Literary Criticism Team swept District by taking 1st, 2nd & 3rd individual and 1st as a team. Went on to Regionals placing 2nd place team, and Kiara had best score in REGION, so on to STATE we go! So PROUD OF THEIR DEDICATION!

I couldn’t resist! Go teachers! If you are still ALIVE & have the brain cells left to read,KUDOS to you! This has been the most CHALLENGING, FRUSTRATING first week of school I have encountered in my 38 years of teaching. I am still here, & I know my students learned new things!!

Night before first school day for 20-21. I will not step into my bright classroom with M&M’s spreading cheer.Tomorrow I will greet a GRID of students. I hope my smile & warmth will translate through the screen. I feel like Orange below, with the tech swimming around in my head.
