“Let me tell you, Afghan neighbors are some of the most hospitable neighbors,” @WajahatAli tells @NBCJoshua. “The least we can do is...bring these Afghans to our home and say ‘as-salāmu alaykum, give me some chapli kabab.”
@TheWeekMSNBC@WajahatAli@NBCJoshua Ali is right. I don't live in the USA and I have neighbours from Syria, Palestine, Jordan, Punjab, and they're beautiful people. They've fed me delicious food. They're like most people, want to work, raise families, live in peace. I get to learn so much about ancient cultures.
@TheWeekMSNBC@WajahatAli@NBCJoshua I agree wholeheartedly, Waj. You should check out Yassin's Falafel here in Knoxville. Came here by himself with pretty much nothing. Over the years he worked very hard, he's opened 2 restaurants in Knoxville which people just love. As a human being Yassin is one of the nicest.
@TheWeekMSNBC@IlhanMN@WajahatAli@NBCJoshua I feel like there are better reasons to bring Afghan refugees into our nation than “they’ll make good restaurants and investments” As if the fact that they’re human beings who have been dealing with our war for two decades isn’t enough.
