No. of pass attempts per coverage penalty enforced (def. holding/def. pass interference) for NFL QBs in 2021:
A. Rodgers - 27.33
D. Prescott - 30.33
J. Herbert - 31.50
P. Mahomes - 33.46
T. Brady - 36.93
D. Carr - 38.15
J. Allen - 82.33
These are the coaching mistakes I point to when I say they lost the game (and every other one possession game they were 0-6 in). We all saw Josh Allen. In the first half they didn't let him play. Absurd.
Worth noting, friends, please do not ever text me about my team's "win" before the clock says 00:00. I'm a Bills fan. I know better. And I knew better when my phone blew up for a minute straight tonight only to see lots of retractions. That doesn't feel good, btw.
Also I'll take the opposite side of the spectrum... why should Bills fans believe we'll win it one year? What better year than this one? Chance for a home game and a mediocre SB opponent. Stop being okay with failure and coaches hamstringing the team. Otherwise we WON'T win one.
My final thought before I enter a long depression sleep is this: I'm not an NFL coach, but I've known since I was a child that prevent defense is the best way to allow a score. McDermott and Frazier ran it out there to steal defeat from the jaws of victory. Loss for words.
Josh Allen had 9 touchdowns and no turnovers in the postseason.
And the Bills will still see their season end in the Divisional Round.
Outside of incorrectly guessing the OT coin toss, Josh Allen was perfect this postseason. What a rough way to go out. Man.
No. There is no "at some point" justification on this. AFC title game could have been hosted against the 4 seed to go the the super bowl against a gimmick team or one whose QB is bipolar. No excuses. They need to learn to win NOW. They were 13 seconds away.
