2 months ago, I invited business and community leaders to the future space of the Workforce Innovation and Skills Hub. The W.I.S.H. will provide residents with training and job placement in the building trades and in-demand tech jobs.

Yesterday, I stopped by Mr. Zywiol's AP Government class at Hayfield High School, and later met with the John Lewis HS SGA to discuss my role as Lee District Supervisor.
Students also asked me about my previous professional experience and how that has led me to where I am today.

Every day, young people face adversities and overcome them in amazing ways. In recognition of Juneteenth, this award celebrates Black resiliency in youth and young adults ages 13-21.

In 1962, President Kennedy proclaimed May 15 as National Peace Officers Memorial Day & the calendar week in which that day falls as Police Week. Join us in remembering law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety & protection of others.
The U.S., state and county flags are lowered to half-staff today at all county government facilities in memory of the one million American lives lost to COVID-19 and their loved ones left behind. The flags will remain at half-staff until sunset on May 16.
Interns will assist staff on a variety of tasks such as constituent casework or land use projects. A stipend of up to $2,000 is available to the student selected for this internship.

My office is seeking an undergraduate or graduate student to serve as an intern in our office. This is an in-person internship opportunity for highly motivated students interested in local government and would like to learn how a Fairfax County Supervisor’s office runs.
Joined my dear friend Sharon Bulova this afternoon to rename the Merrifield Center in her honor. Sharon championed the Diversion First program. Since the center opened in 2016, 2,600+ people have been diverted from arrest, receiving critical behavioral health treatment instead.
