The Princess’ visit marked the creation of the Academy’s Prince Philip Fund, established in The Duke of Edinburgh’s memory to support and encourage those working in the engineering sector.
The Duke served as Senior Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering for nearly 50 years.
Yesterday, The Princess Royal visited Prince Philip House - the @RAEngNews London HQ - to attend a reception in honour of The Duke of Edinburgh, who established the Academy in 1976.
The Princess, as a Royal Fellow, signed the Academy’s Fellows Book.
🏅Princess Alexandra, Vice President of @BritishRedCross, presented the prestigious Queen’s Badge of Honour to three members of the British Red Cross Society at St James’s Palace this week.
The Badge is awarded for exceptional service, and is the organisation’s highest honour.
Earlier this week The Princess Royal, Colonel-in-Chief of the Royal Corps of Signals, visited soldiers who are currently in training on Exercise Flying Falcon in Wiltshire.

🎖 The Prince of Wales and The Princess Royal presented honours recipients from all walks of life with their insignia during the two Investitures which were held at Windsor Castle, including war crimes prosecutor Kwai Hong Ip and gospel music director
♻️ The Global Investment Summit comes ahead of the Royal Family’s attendance at events in Glasgow for the COP26 UN Climate Change Conference in November. It aims to showcase the best of British innovation and highlight the UK’s role in green investment and clean technologies.
🌎 🏰 This evening The Queen hosted a reception at Windsor Castle to mark the Global Investment Summit.
🤝 She was joined by The Prince of Wales, The Duke of Cambridge and The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester as she welcomed influential business leaders from around the world.
Dame Cindy has had a distinguished career in academic research, and in 2003 was the first woman, and Māori, to be appointed as Children’s Commissioner.
As Governor General, Dame Cindy will act as The Queen’s representative in New Zealand.
