After Sandy Hook, 86 percent of Americans supported bipartisan legislation requiring background checks. 46 senators representing just 38 percent of the country were able to block it. How? You guessed it: The filibuster.

@RBReich The force that was the NRA no longer exists. Does that change anything?

@RBReich Trying to understand the impact of a filibuster. is this right? Filibusters allow the Republican Party to hide behind their capitalistic ties by avoiding votes that actually hurt who they represent? What am I missing/don’t know?

@RBReich I'm truly losing hope that our government will ever change for the better. As a child, I naively believed society would be closer to Star Trek's ideas of equality but it no longer seems possible. I just don't know anymore what we can do to change things.

@RBReich BUST filibuster. Pretrial detention without bail. Civil seizure of personal & organizational wealth. Public trials. INSANE to appease enemies of Our Republic who claim authority from Republic they seek to destroy.
