Climate change is a health emergency. GPs across Australia are already seeing the impacts, such as the tragic 2019 Black Summer bushfires, which had a lasting impact on people's health and wellbeing

I welcome news that the @TGAgovau has provisionally approved the Pfizer vaccine as safe and effective for use for 5 to 11-year-old children. General practices are the backbone of the vaccine rollout and will need support from the Government to shoulder the load #COVID19 #vaccine

GPs are putting in the hard yards trying to educate and inform patients. It’s simply heartbreaking to hear stories of unvaccinated people with COVID-19 in hospital gasping for air saying “please give me the vaccine” and being told it’s too late.

Today I'm urging GPs to be on the look out for signs of abuse among patients as domestic violence escalates during the pandemic. We play such a vital role in identifying and providing support for patients experiencing abuse and violence.

.@RACGPPresident Dr Karen Price said the allocation of an additional 25 CPD points to all GPs participating in the #CPDProgram is in recognition of ‘the tireless work you’ve undertaken throughout the year’ on the #pandemic frontline.

General practice is the backbone of the vaccine rollout. However, we must also be mindful that practices have been under a lot of pressure and the financial sustainability of general practice needs to be front of mind #vaccine

The pandemic is not over and the vaccine rollout isn't done. We must improve communication with vulnerable patient groups and heed vital lessons from the challenges general practices faced during the rollout this year #COVID19 #vaccine

This is absolutely appalling. GPs, practice managers, nurses, receptionists and administrative workers have had an exhausting year delivering COVID-19 vaccines and providing usual, day-to-day care for patients. This is the last thing they need.

Many pharmacies are likely to skip the #booster program and state vaccine hubs are scaling back operations, which will likely have implications for GPs involved in the #COVID vaccine program.

Even if you are young, fit and healthy - COVID-19 needs to taken seriously. "Long COVID" symptoms can persist for many months and affect your quality of life and ability to work or study. Please get vaccinated and encourage others to do the same #LongCOVID

As @RACGP WA Chair Ramya Raman notes, GPs are well placed to talk to pregnant women about receiving the COVID-19 vaccines. If you are pregnant it is extra important that you get vaccinated right away #Covid_19

Great points made by @docclements in the @tsv_bulletin today. The most vulnerable members of the community will suffer the consequences of the actions of those who refuse to be vaccinated. Please think of others when making your decision #COVID19 #COVIDQld

Adjusting to a new way of life following long periods of confinement can be difficult. If you are experiencing mental health issues or if you have delayed or avoided consultations and screenings during the pandemic, I recommend you book in with your GP.

Great news for my home state of Victoria! We will soon pass through the 90% double vaccination rate, and new, relaxed restrictions will come into effect from tonight. No more caps and no more closures. A huge relief for a state that has gone through so much #Victorians #CovidVic

My home state of Victoria has recorded 1,007 new COVID-19 cases and 12 deaths. A reminder that this pandemic is not over. Please follow COVIDSafe restrictions in place, wear a mask indoors, get tested if you feel unwell and get vaccinated #CovidVic

The situation in the Northern Territory is very concerning. 83.5% of all people in Australia aged 16+ are fully vaccinated, yet that figure sits at 55.3% for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. The spike in cases is a sign of things to come. We must be prepared #COVIDNT
