We should start to see answers within days. If Michael Flynn's "engagement" with the committee isn't legit, they'll quickly ring him up for contempt. If the committee doesn't ring up Flynn in the coming days or weeks, it would suggest he really is cooperating on some level.

For any of this to work, the committee would need proof that Charles Flynn lied to them. We don't yet know what they do or don't have, beyond a memo. But Politico says they've had the memo since last week. Maybe they've already had enough time to dig in and verify or refute it.

Michael Flynn is unstable and can't be trusted. BUT if he gives the committee anything usable in the short term, in exchange for his brother not being rung up for perjury, that would be a gift. They can always ring Flynn up for contempt later if and when he ceases cooperating.

Michael Flynn previously cooperated with investigators to protect his son. Will he cooperate now to protect his brother? Is that what's going on? Is that what the 1/6 committee is trying to pull off right now?

If Charles Flynn didn't lie to the committee, he's safe. But if he did lie, they can get him indicted for perjury, whether or not it can be proven that he broke any laws on 1/6. The committee can also decide to let Charles off the hook for perjury, if Michael Flynn cooperates.

So why would the committee leak the Charles Flynn memo the night before Michael Flynn's testimony deadline? Probably to make him think about possibly giving up others, in order to save his brother.

First question: how did the media get the memo? Probably from the committee itself, which already had it. That's not certain. But when you want to figure out how the media got ahold of a document, always start with who already had the document, and whether they wanted it public.

1) The 1/6 committee has apparently known about the Charles Flynn perjury allegation since last week. 2) The media obtained the memo last night. 3) Michael Flynn was required to testify today, with no indication he was going to show. 4) Now he's "engaging" with the committee.

1,717,067 people in New York are living with diabetes and paying outrageous prices for life-saving insulin.  A $35 per month cap on insulin will lower costs & save lives.

Prioritizing the people's health is key to our plan to Build Back Better from COVID. Democrats are cutting costs on health care premiums for millions without access to Medicaid Expansion and delivering #ForThePeople with lower costs for prescription drugs that they need to live.

The people who sit around all day whining about Garland are the biggest losers you'll ever encounter. They don't want to put in the work. They don't want to win. They just want to whine. These whiny losers are our enemy, and we must discard them as such, so we can fight and win.

It’s now more important than ever that you stop whining about Garland, and start doing YOUR job as activists. If you don’t do your job, it doesn’t matter what someone like Garland does or doesn’t do.

Of course this is only half the battle. We must pass voting rights legislation in the new year. If we do our jobs as activists, we can make it happen, just like we got the votes for infrastructure. It requires presuming we’re going to win, and then putting in the work to win.

AG Merrick Garland is going after Texas over its gerrymandered districts and voter suppression. It’s now clear that Garland intends to bust every state that’s trying these antics. Why did it take this long? DOJ had to build a winning court case. Competent strategies take time.

Of course these three premises result in widely different levels of honesty vs dishonesty. #1 means always lying about what’s happening #2 means telling the truth about what’s happening, but then massively exaggerating how bad it is for the left #3 means half truth, half lies

Left, right, or center, the major media outlets are all multimillion dollar for-profit businesses. As far as they’re concerned, they exist to generate ratings and page views. It’s just a matter of which of the big three ratings tropes they want to base their business model on.

Fox News is built on premise #1. MSNBC and liberal internet pundits are all built on premise #2. CNN is built on premise #3, though now dabbling in premise #1. Chuck Todd somehow uses all three. But the point is that the entire industry is built on these same three premises.

The three easy ways to get ratings: 1) Tell conservatives the lies that let them justify their selfishness 2) Tell liberals they’re going to lose 3) Tell the middle that both sides are the same The ENTIRE political journalism industry is based on these three premises.
