So my story. Prusa not only gave me the tools to bring my imagination to life. They embraced and encouraged it. And I'll always be grateful for that. But, this isn't the ending of my Prusa story. In fact there is more to come. Especially when I get my hands on that XL.😍🤣

Since then I've had other designs featured, done collaborations, been a guest on Prusa live, found myself a Prusa approved designer, done a kickstarter and also have a humble Patreon. I am also honored to be part of one of the greatest communities in the world. 🤗

Shortly after this was the first Prusa Live. Seeing @MattStultz hold up the print of the Prusa Mate was one of my proudest moments. And seeing @TheZuza and @josefprusa laugh about it was truly heart warming. It convinced me the world needed more designs like this.

I checked on Prusa Printers some time later to see if it had any downloads and to my amazement it was a featured model. My mind was completely blown. I kept thinking, 'But the design looks crazy.'

I showed it to a friend, @wallardi . He convinced me to share it online. In the end I figured if it makes one person laugh or smile, especially during those depressing times, then it was totally worth it. So I shared the design.

So I designed the first Prusa Mate. It literally took me two hours and I decided not to share it online, as it looked too out there. Even though it was making me smile and laugh, this was a very different design to what I normally created. I wasn't sure anyone would like it.

But by July there wasn't the demand for PPE anymore. I was also feeling down due to lockdown. So I decided to design something very different to my usual designs. It was going to be something daft, silly and comical. My intention was to make myself laugh and cheer myself up.

As this was going on I studied. Although I was already confident with 123D Design, I decided to learn technical drawing, solidworks and Blender. To keep myself sane during the lockdowns I treated these courses like work. Always studying from 9 to 5 Mon to FRI.

I worked with 3d Crowd as so many other great people did to print these face shields. To this day I have never been more proud and honored for being part of such an amazing community. Watching it all come together so quickly was utterly heart warming.

Prusa3D quickly worked with the Czech ministry of health and released a 3d printable face shield design. And I watched in utter amazement as the entire 3d printing community that I loved and cherished swiftly joined together and started printing PPE.

The month following Covid hit. Lockdowns were introduced and many people found themselves either unemployed or on furlough. It was a confusing and worrying time. And it felt pointless looking for work, so I changed my plan. Which I will get to..
