I get it, but Bills let Chiefs go 50 yards in nine seconds to kick a game tying FG.

. @NFL change the OT rule. It’s an absolute travesty that this game ends without Josh Allen getting the ball back.

Had fun, as always, discussing @umichbball @umichwbball @umichhockey and #JimHarbaugh on the @michiganinsider this week. FWIW, I have no idea what Jim will do. As @Johnubacon notes every day, no one outside of Jim, Sarah, Jack & Jackie probably does:

100% endorse this podcast for every Michigan fan to listen to as it does an outstanding job explaining NIL at the NCAA, state of Michigan and U-M level. Lot of misinformation out there about NIL and this clarifies what's real and what's not.

- Compare Michigan’s policy to MSU and OSU to see if UM’s policy is more or less strict than its chief conference rivals. - Debate whether UM will ever go full TAMU. Linked here for Apple Podcasts:

In a poll I tweeted recently, 93% of you said Michigan should be doing the same things that A&M, OSU, Texas, etc. are doing. That's certainly your prerogative but unless the new president comes from the SEC or Texas/Florida, I wouldn't bank on this person embracing pay-for-play.

You could argue (pretty easily) it is wholly unethical. You can also point out it's legal under NCAA/state law rules at the moment and plenty of coaches/institutions have always been willing to push the envelope right up to the edge of legality.

Texas found a loophole to exploit what a charitable organization is supposed to be about in an effort to buy OL recruits with an enticing $50,000 offer. A&M has taken this further. Ohio State and many others will copy this approach because NCAA/state laws do not prohibit it.

There seems to be a belief that Michigan athletes are being robbed of opportunities when that is not true. A number of football and basketball players have been compensated generously via NIL over the past six months, even some Olympic sport athletes.

Name, Image & Likeness is wildly misunderstood. Mark Schlissel was bad for Michigan but to believe a new president, more sports-friendly, will grant the athletic department carte blanche to essentially greenlight buying football/basketball recruits via NIL is unrealistic.

I know Hunter Dickinson pretty well, teaching him last semester, and if any Illinois fan thinks he sat out last night to duck Kofi they can F off. I know the character, integrity, passion, competitiveness & selflessness of Hunter, & I'll have words with anyone that attacks him.

Man fans are still out here implying elite D1 athletes are faking COVID to avoid tough matchups? Not really how those caliber of athletes are wired, period.

On my weekly radio appearance with @michiganinsider we discussed #NIL and whether Michigan should get into the slush fund/pay-for-play space that Texas A&M, Texas, OSU and others are embracing? What do you think?

At this point, hoping to see enough out of McCarthy to get hyped for next season. 2021 was a great year. Won’t forget feeling of beating OSU and winning Big Ten title. Awesome accomplishments. Can 2022 be as good? QB will likely have to be a bigger playmaker than he was.
