Readers and supporters can help us by signing our petition to ask @time management to agree to a fair contract before May 23. We’ve cleared our schedules and are ready to bargain. We’re ready to do whatever it takes to win a fair contract for all.

. @timemagunion has been fighting nearly three years to secure the contract we deserve. That’s too long! We’re planning to walk out on May 23—the launch date of our iconic #TIME100 franchise—unless @time management agrees to a fair contract.

TIME Union is prepared to walk out for one day on May 23, the day #TIME100 is released, one of our tentpole franchises that would not exist without our labor—unless @time management agrees to a fair contract.

Over the past 2+ years, while pushing for a contract with the benefits and rights we deserve, many of our union members have left @TIME for other opportunities. Here are some of the reasons they decided to "break up" with TIME.

Basically these proposals would reduce our union to a union in name only. We refuse to stand for that. Our co-owner Marc @Benioff talks a lot about how workers should be treated. This is his chance to put his words into action. It’s TIME for a fair contract.

. @TIME management wants to create an underclass of workers who are less protected by allowing temporary or freelance employees to take on union-covered work at any time, unprotected by a collective bargaining agreement.

They also want free rein to “change or eliminate” all benefits at any time with 10 days’ notice. This includes everything from our healthcare coverage to our retirement plans.

. @TIME management isn’t willing to guarantee a set number of days for bereavement leave, parental leave, and paid time off. What kind of company believes it should be able to regulate how its employees grieve, give birth and care for their families?

. @TIME management wants the right to cut anyone’s pay at any time “if [they] can establish cause.”

Journalism is a profession built on transparency. But @TIME wants our negotiations to be shrouded in secrecy. Maybe it’s because the proposals they have put forward after 2 ½ years of bargaining show how they really feel about their employees.

Today, our bargaining committee and over 40 of our members were ready to begin expedited bargaining with @TIME management. @TIME management refused to meet with us. Why are they afraid to face their employees?

. @timemagunion is back at the bargaining table today. We're still waiting for @TIME management to respond to our proposal for fair wages and stable benefits, which we put down in August. #TIMEtoRespond
