Great meeting with Transportation Secretary @PeteButtigieg today in DC. We’re working towards a paradigm shift on transportation in Harris County, to a system that prioritizes people over cars. Glad to have a partner in @SecretaryPete who shares and supports that vision.

Attending meetings in DC this week to talk about our successful efforts to get American Rescue Plan funds on the ground in our community. There's no better investment than Harris County.

We can’t solve flooding overnight. But we can be smarter about it. No longer are decisions made on flood projects according to who you know downtown, but by a worst-first framework that is fair and equitable.

Over the last 3 years, we've put people over politics in the pandemic and in how we fight flooding. We’ve made pioneering investments in early ed and public safety. We can't go back to the old way. I filed for re-election today. Help protect the progress➡️

I just filed for re-election, and I’m ready to work relentlessly to protect all of the progress we’ve made over the last three years. If you care about the future of Harris County and Texas, too much is at stake to sit this one out. Join the fight--->

Voter suppression becomes Texas law today. Our innovations -- 24-hr voting and drive thru voting, popular with both parties, are now banned. Partisan poll watchers can get as close to voters as they want. We'll keep working to knock down barriers to the ballot box.

On #WorldAidsDay Harris County is continuing our storied history of leading the fight to end HIV-AIDS and support those living with the virus.  Check out the inspiring story of our Thomas Street Clinic, the first free-standing HIV-AIDS clinic in America.

Qualified women & minority owned businesses haven’t had a fair shot at government contracts.  Yesterday I supported an allocation of $200k by @RodneyEllis @AdrianGarciaHTX to community colleges & ISD’s to support disparity studies which will hopefully illuminate a path to equity

Our Houston-Harris County Rental Assistance Program has worked so efficiently that the federal government is now diverting funds to Harris County from jurisdictions that are not using their funds. Today we were proud to authorize a continuation of our program.
