Because two Commissioners won’t do their job we will have fewer police on the streets. I want everybody in Harris County to understand that.

I’ve asked the County Attorney to see if we have the authority to compel the absent Commissioners to attend Court & do their job. If they skip, we lose funding equivalent to 175 police, frontline officers won’t receive promised raises, our hospitals will have $45M deficit, & more

If my colleagues don't do their job & show up to Commissioners Court tomorrow, Harris County will lose over $100M. Fewer police on the streets, less frontline prosecutors, cutting cancer screenings, & forcing 10,000 patients to lose potentially life-saving services.

Harris County will host up to 8 gun buyback events this year to provide responsible ways to surrender firearms, get guns out of the hands of criminals, & keep our communities safer.

I can’t believe I actually have to say this, but as Harris County Judge, I will never post on GETTR, the fringe alternative to Twitter designed to cater to extremists and insurrectionist, made after Donald Trump was banned from Twitter. I wish my opponent could say the same.

The Harris County Judge is responsible for overseeing our public hospital system. Yet, my opponent supports an abortion ban that prohibits women from having an abortion - even in cases of rape and incest. The stakes of this election couldn’t be higher.

My heart is with the loved ones of Archbishop Emeritus Joseph A. Fiorenza. His endless dedication to social justice, advocacy, and commitment to diversity will be remembered. Let’s continue in his footsteps to make this world a better place.

My opponent just refused to accept the results of the election, ostensibly because a nonpartisan, experienced Elections Administrator runs the election. She’s trying to sow doubts about the results before votes are cast. Voter suppression in TX continues.

Harris County funds our public health system & hospitals. It’s tragic that our own health department could be at a $45M deficit because of a GOP budget boycott. 10,000 patients could lose services. I hope my colleagues will show up on Sept 27.
