Have you heard the good news? Women can own property now! There’s literally no reason why baby-naming needs to be patrilineal!

I’m sorry, but after 9 years I can’t take it anymore. If you ask *me* why *my* children that *I* grew in *my* body have my last name and not their father’s, you’re going to get a little speech about the patriarchy. So just get comfy. It’s happening.

This tweet brought so much satisfaction to my heart. It’s the questions isn’t it? The implication that naming your own children your last name as a woman, is doing something wrong. No, what is wrong is the automatic assumption that men have that right, and women don’t.

there's a decent chance you're being hammered on your retirement annuity/ pension fund with excess fees R100k growing at 6% each year for 25 years = R430k the same R100k after 2% in fees = R260k 40% evaporated... just like that

This 30% thing is politicking at the expense of children’s futures. We don’t need to sacrifice children just to prove that the DBE is incompetent.

Finally, raising the pass mark to 50% without first addressing the systemic issues in the education system just means that more children won’t matriculate. Children who don’t have access to textbooks, teachers who are qualified to teach specific subjects, libraries, etc

As an aside, not every student needs to get into uni. Not every person thrives in a uni environment. Our society also needs artisans (I.e plumbers, electricians, mechanics, etc) to function. And there should be more investment into alternative paths for matriculants

Universities also have their own criteria for admission. Most of them require more than 30% in any subject to be admitted (esp the more competitive ones). Students aren’t really jumping from 30% to 50% because the students getting 30% are generally not getting into uni

The way the 30% conversation is happening is disingenuous. For starters you cannot pass matric by getting 30% in every subject. So saying pupils just need 30% is dishonest. This isn’t DBE spin doctoring. This is literally info that has been publicly available for years

It's no coincidence that SA U19 star Dewald Brevis' style resembles that of AB de Villiers. "I know Dewald well, I've been his mentor for 2 years," says De Villiers. They've had many net sessions together. AB has been to the Brevis house, which has a cricket net in the backyard.

I think it’s unfair to focus on what people are wearing at Job interviews given the fact that some have been unemployed for years and don’t even own a formal shirt or shoes for that matter.

Are you more attracted to genitals or gender expression? I know you’re going to say both but I need you to pick one. Or at least say what’s more important to you.

I really don’t understand this decision when matric results literally get sent to students via SMS. And the SMS contains the exact grades while the newspaper publication does not. Unless things have changed since I was in high school?

I know a lot of content creators have been abandoning YouTube but I’m so glad there are still people dropping great videos because I’ve gotten back into watching skin prep + makeup tutorials
