“I can’t tell a kid I love him only when everything is going good and he helps us win championships,” he said. “When it goes bad, I also got to tell him I love him. That is how it works." My latest column: On an amazing Black coach/cop in Minneapolis. 1/2

My col today on the Angry Beaver bar and its struggle to survive the pandemic -- long enough for the Kraken's 1st @NHL season -- has a Seattle Metropolitans mention. Here's an old story on the Mets and the tragic Stanley Cup of 1919. A personal favorite.

At the Little League World Series the final play of every game is automatically reviewed. Major League Baseball should consider the same. And yes a check swing call-if the final-play should be reviewable.

They “were married in a traditional Kenyan ceremony but were estranged at the time of her killing. Their families had convinced them to try to reconcile and they had apparently met this week to do that.” Then Agnes, 25, was found in bed with stab wounds.

My little guy is trying to learn the rules of baseball, which of course are really confusing for a kid who has never played the game or watched much. Hell, even he could tell that was a bad call. So…now he gets a lesson on human fallibility before bedtime. #dodgersvsgiants

Your reminder that historically we did not use at least half our intellectual talent. And today, we are still not fully utilizing half our talent. So... the human race is missing out on so much!
