🚫Don’t be tempted to cool off in ponds, lakes or other bodies of water during the heatwave this week. Water that looks inviting on the surface might have hidden dangers underneath. The only safe place to take a dip is at places specifically designed for swimming 🚫
Dry ground takes more time to soak up water following a

than if it were during a normal summer.
This experiment shows how heavy rainfall following an extended period of extreme heat could lead to flooding.
Yorkshire, it’s time to put the hosepipes down for a bit.
From 26th August we’re asking everyone to pop away the hosepipes so we can help get our reservoirs back to normal.
