employers can adopt @ucu ’s proposals, halt the pensions cut, deal with unjust pay + conditions and avoid disruption for students if not, students will be out there on the picket lines with striking staff wishing UUK + UCEA a very unhappy Valentine’s Day ❤️‍🔥 #OneOfUsAllOfUs

You can pre-order The Racialized Social System here! A book I was thinking about since graduate school. Endorsed by three amazing scholars who have shaped my thinking on the topic, including Bonilla-Silva, whose work first introduced me to this approach

THREAD. Many women campaigners and organisers I know don’t have the time to devote to long blog writing or indulgent posts online because they’re out getting the job done. For the men who undermine and spend hours sucking every last bit of energy out of them please desist.

How might we rethink the policies & politics of the British welfare state once we acknowledge that much of the wealth that enabled its establishment came from the labour & taxes of its colonial – not national - subjects? 🧵 1/n

So lovely to see the 117 year-old pine parquet flooring in Maryhill Library, hidden under carpets for years, now beautifully restored by local contractor Natural Floors UK ahead of the reopening on Monday. Turns out our historic Carnegie library was worth 'gussying up' after all!

Right, we've saved most of our libraries but, don't forget, we're still fighting the good fight for the People's Palace, whose birthday it was today. Here's the opening bash, #OTD in 1898. The people want their palace back!
