This camera is actually NASCAR owned camera that TV apparently can’t use but sure seems like it should be hard to miss. Even if you miss it has to be addressed during the race. Just bring your social media rep to race control you’ll know everything that’s happening eventually.
I am just wondering how something like this gets missed. That throttling up seems pretty blatant. The combination of video plus throttle trace from SMT should have pointed officials to a quick decision about a penalty.
Should be a two week break with a mandatory shut down of the shops for one week. Right now we work everyone into the ground and a set week for them to plan around with their family would be a big deal.
Speaking of F1, there’s only 1 off weekend for the Cup Series next year. Do you think they should have more?
Also, I was thinking of a “Summer Break” for the Cup Series kind of like F1 does where they shut operations down for a month. There would obviously have to be less races
All of these situations should be handled during the race. Just like F1 “under investigation” works at any point of the race, you issue a penalty and move on. That way when you “don’t see it” you can still handle during the event.
Scott Miller said NASCAR didn’t realize Byron had spun Hamlin until they went back to green because they had focused on the cause of the caution. Said a points penalty or other penalties to Byron are possible.
