Like a fire hose of water being aimed right at NW Washington, this persistent plume of subtropical moisture was the culprit of the most recent flooding. #wawx #komonews #SoNorthwest

A giant metal cricket, sunshine, and a dust devil extending into evaporating rain (𝙫𝙞𝙧𝙜𝙖)! This unusual sight was recorded from the Galleta Meadows Estate in Borrego Springs, California last month. 🌪🏜🦗 Video sent in by: David B. #weather #stormhour #cawx #wx #tornado

Now this is a comparison that really puts our recent rain into perspective. 😯

Seattle's new meteorological fall rain record is impressive in its own right, but pales in comparison to what fell in 90 days over parts of the Olympics & Cascades with more than 50 inches. In Forks, rain in the past 90 days exceeds what Vegas typically gets in 13 years. #wawx

Water over roads and into neighborhoods in the town of Allen, near Burlington in Skagit County. It’s about a foot deep in this area so neighbors are parking their car on higher ground and trudging to and from their homes in galoshes. #wawx

Updated map with lidar from @wadnr showing the source of the floodwater: the Nooksack River. This illustrates how little elevation there is preventing the Nooksack from spilling over its banks at Everson and flooding NE - which is currently happening, again☹️
