Democrats can be incredibly frustrating; even infuriating. But at least they actually believe in democracy, respect elections, believe in equality (however imperfectly they show it and work towards it) and care about governing.
Indeed. For all their messiness and internal division, at least most elected Democrats are TRYING to change people's lives for the better. Republicans are doing literally nothing but shoring up Trump's ego, preventing people from voting, promoting COVID spread and banning books.
Democrats are struggling, with bare majorities, for ways to use the federal govt to address climate change and help struggling families with health care, child care, education and housing
Republicans are showing again their opposition to using the federal govt for those purposes
President Biden & our elected Democrats should be asking themselves the following questions every day:
1. What is stopping Trump from becoming the 2024 GOP nominee?
2. What would stop him from attempting another coup?
3. What are Democrats doing about it?

Trump supporter at @TPUSA event: "When do we get to use the guns? . . . I mean literally, where's the line? How many elections are they gonna steal before we kill these people?"
These folks are serious and Democrats seem utterly unprepared.
Learned From the Facebook papers: Facebook routinely gives conservative politicians and causes a pass. Facebook repeatedly and deliberately looks the other way instead of taking action against conservative politicians and causes.
US democracy totally broken when huge majorities support policies like paid leave, expanding healthcare, taxing wealthy, lowering prescription drug prices, protecting voting rights, gun control, etc & none of it becomes law b/c of undemocratic institutions & influence of big $
definition of a broken democracy: when a large majority of voters want an increase in the minimum wage, greater access to healthcare, common sense gun reform, policies dealing with climate change, protection of women's freedom to decide, etc, and none of this actually gets done.
After 47 hours of labor, I gave birth to my girl — umbilical cord still wrapped around her neck. She spent time in an incubator to heal. Without paid leave I’d have had to quit work.
This should NOT be hard, folks: babies need their parents and #WorkingFamiliesNeedPaidLeave
