Kind of interesting -- six Starbucks workers inside a grocery store in Idaho filed to join the existing grocery workers union. Not quite the same leap organizing a free-standing store would be, but curious whether these folks were inspired by the organizing in Buffalo...

@JonahFurman I think they may technically be employed by the Grocery store (Safeway/Albertson's). We organized a bunch thru card check in Oregon in 2016-2017, and they worked at those Starbucks kiosks but they worked for the grocery store, not Starbucks

@JonahFurman Wife insisted on hitting a Denver SB drive-thru. I asked the worker at the window if she was down with SB Workers United. "What's that?" NY SB workers forming a union. "Wow. That's wild."

@JonahFurman i’m UFCW and it’s still so strange to me that an entire store can still not be fully unionized in each department. every SB kiosk worker here is automatically considered just another side department and pet of the union

@JonahFurman I worked the Starbucks kiosk at the Hilton Orange County when we organized & won our union in 2005. We did not think of ourselves as Starbucks employees. But most of us worked in other departments in the Hilton before transfering to the coffee bar.

@JonahFurman @unitehere has unionized Starbucks locations. At airports and some other places. Not run by Starbucks themselves though.

@JonahFurman I think there are similar petitions in at least two stores in Region 27.
