Here’s Exhibit A why I vote for Bonds even though I am a big no on steroids

Barry Bonds had 334 home runs and 380 stolen bases through the 1996 season. No other player in baseball history has eclipsed both of those totals in their entire career.

There are 8 players, all great, linked to PEDs on this year’s Hall of Fame ballot. Of the 8, Ortiz had at best the 5th best career/stats (behind Bonds, Clemens, A-Rod, Manny). Thus, I do not get how this is going. Explanation?

Parody account (complete with worse accent than me) somehow mentioned Sherlock first. And even mocked me! Love it!

Mets are hiring Glenn Sherlock for bench coach. Sherlock is a longtime Showalter coach (for Yankees and D-Backs) and previously coached for Mets. Was on Pirates coaching staff last year.

Nice to see Tony Fernandez who had 4 stints with the Jays high on the list. No real issue with the order though it’s interesting to note that the Jays’ 2 MVPs didn’t make it.

While MLB sees significant increased money for 2-plus players with the proposed formula, players side sees even this move as incremental at best. 22 arbitration slots would be removed and replaced by the formula.

MLB offered a formula to provide more money to players with 2-plus years of service time in attempt to address concern about younger stars being vastly underpaid. The increased offer in minimum salary from $570,500 to $600K in 2022 (then scaled up in ‘23, etc.) has been on table.
