Hello!
We got a handy graphic done for a few of my acting projects so I stop answering with a vague "check IMDb..!" because I am truly forgetful & frazzled when encountered in the world at large.

-martial arts knows that you are constantly improving, training, & fixing things. I guarantee you his son has just as much to work on as his daughter. But he only noticed hers.
Be better than this, for your daughter’s sakes.

Please, if you have daughters who are interested in fields/hobbies heavily populated by men, remember to give the same support you would your son. If you go looking for errors and for them to fall, you’ll be more a cause of that than anything else.
Everyone who’s trained in-
Women are just as capable excelling in martial arts as men. Anyone is.
It literally plays no part except when you have to hear these ass backwards points of view that make women think there’s no place for them there.
THERE IS. We belong here as much as anybody else.
When I trained growing up, I excelled and was constantly at the top of my class. Because I was supported and because I work my ass off. I was never told I would struggle to keep up with the boys. My parents never mentioned my gender in regards to my ability ever.
The only thing stopping someone from excelling is Lack. Of. Support.
My heart broke knowing her father was watching her errors and attributing it for some damned reason to her gender. If you tell someone they aren’t as capable, that’s going to start to sink in.
He was asking b/c his kids are in martial arts and he “noticed his daughter is having some issues his son isn’t…” and worries that as a girl she won’t be able to keep up.
Here’s the answer I was too caught off guard to answer at the time:
This has NOTHING to do with gender.
It’s very rare that I leave martial arts class upset.
But tonight I am so mad. So mad b/c I had to hear a point of view that I’ve been aware of since I started training at 5:
“How did you keep up in class as a woman? Physically, you know, I mean you can see there’s a difference.”
If we can quote rapper’s lyrics to prosecute them, I believe it’s completely fair to persecute the white supremacist talking heads being quoted BAR FOR BAR by mass shooters.
It’s time to start pulling plug on these grifters.
Folks, I’ve never been happier to say that I’m getting kicked 110 times.
But let’s keep it going: if we hit 35k by the end of the night, we’ll begin the Day of 1000 kicks.
