"Sorry" isn't enough. Thousands have been killed in covert, unaccountable drone strikes over the past two decades. We should be demanding accountability for anyone involved in this and a full inquiry into this and the entire drone program.

"It was a mistake ... I offer my sincere apology" -- Gen. Kenneth McKenzie confirms that a drone strike last month in Afghanistan killed "as many as 10 civilians, including up to 7 children" and didn't actually hit an ISIS-K target

NEW: Minneapolis City Council President Lisa Bender said Chief Medaria Arradondo's public criticism of the policing charter amendment appeared to violate ethics rules. She said she has filed an ethics complaint against Arradondo and Mayor Jacob Frey.

We have been clear since April: we will pass the bipartisan infrastructure once we vote a Build Back Better Act to help our communities. That has not changed. No vote on infrastructure until we vote on reconciliation.

I back House Progressives. We need to agree on bill text for Build Back Better to be sure we are all on the same page. Literally. This sounds like an inside issue, but it’s about making sure Democrats deliver for Americans.

The whip for the Progressive Caucus Rep. Ilhan Omar says there are NOT enough votes to pass the infrastructure bill today. Says she’s “optimistic” about the social spending bill framework, things Medicare expansion could be added

We're the only developed country in the world that doesn't have national paid leave. You can't say you're pro-family and be against paid leave.

We've just finished an excellent meeting with @Ilhan and her staffers. We spoke about the ever-increasing entrenchment of the occupation, the six Palestinian human rights NGOs who were disgracefully outlawed last week, and the surge in settler violence against Palestinians.

We did not come to Congress to watch our entire agenda get torpedoed by corporate lobbyists, billionaires, and coal company owners hellbent on screwing over the American people. It’s time to bring to the floor a bill that prioritizes people over corporations.

To be clear, President Joe Biden *ran* and won on these values. These are the values of the Democratic Party. It is corporate greed, and the lawmakers who serve them, who are betraying the values of our party and the American people.

Paid leave is just the latest axe that might fall—not because of popular opposition—but because it goes against the interests of corporations and the Members of Congress who do their bidding.

How about lowering the Medicare age or expanding it to cover dental, vision and hearing? We are still working, but no lowering the age, no dental, and no vision, according to the latest negotiations.

How about lowering prescription drugs, one of the most popular policies in the world? Slashed after a multimillion dollar lobbying blitz by drug corporations.

So how has that played out in negotiations? Let’s start with climate. The oil and gas industry all but killed cornerstone climate portions of the bill because it hurt coal, oil, and gas corporations.

A shadowy group called “Center Forward” is running ads everywhere to reward politicians trying to slash the bill. Shocker! They receive $1.5 million a year from Big Pharma.

Big Pharma—desperate to keep drug prices as high as possible—has spent $15 million. The oil and gas industry has spent over $55 million.

The US Chamber of Congress—the face of corporate greed—is working over time to kill the bill, and already spent $30 million this year on lobbyists, along with a six figure ad campaign.
