I am a fiction writer and also a copywriter. If you want to see me talk about storytelling structure and writing styles and outlining and editing and how they all relate to marketing copy, you can follow me at my new account:
I don’t want to be a parent, which means I have the time and energy to help my friends who have kids. I’m also a lifelong teetotaller, which means I can help my friends get home safely when they are drunk.
People are not meant to be all the same, and differences can be an asset.
When my friends who are parents are too knackered to carry on, they can count on me, the childfree person who sleeps nine hours every night, to keep an eye on their kids while they take a nap.
Parents and childfree people are natural allies. It takes a village.
Lists are one of the most useful tools a writer can have. I make lists of interesting surnames, plant names, place names, descriptive phrases, and much more. Thesauruses are great, but so is building your own personalised one.
