How many people are living in a delicate financial situation? As in, If the car needs repair, they have to decide between the repair or paying bills.
We always say "you need to live within your means". But what should they do when they don't have "means" to live within?
Today is our neighborhood’s annual garage sale. Usually I’m not all that excited about it.
But this year it’s been great to see the neighbors out and interact with strangers.
And can you really beat the excitement of haggling over a 75 cent coffee mug?!?!?
How about we unite as a country. At least for this.
Let’s make the mandatory minimums for crimes of this nature 35 years. Across the country, every Democrat, Republican, libertarian and the like should support such action. https://t.co/seGgKbg0ZX
It’s easy sometimes to jump on the decisions of Officers and paint them as the bad guys.
But let’s always remember, they’re willing to do a job that doesn’t guarantee a return home . I’m glad Trooper Saeger is going to recover! https://t.co/hPScbsuWDV
Golden Corral is trending. This is a good time to let you know a little about me.
I’m not a buffet guy (anymore) but as a kid my favorite restaurant was Ponderosa. And the Old Country Buffet was reserved for Sunday or Special Occasions.
I heard a radio commercial today (paid for with tax dollars) about not leaving a child in the back seat of your car during the summer.
A suggestion to help you remember the child is back there is to put something important in the back seat…
We’re not evolving very well are we?
Part of me wants to blame the “entertainment media”. You know, the people who don’t spit out news, just political theater.
But if she was willing to make a fool of herself, the blame can’t be put on any other than her.
Here is something I fail to wrap my head around. We gave people an extra $600 a week in unemployment benefits to help make ends meet during the pandemic. Thats 2400-3000 dollars a month.
Why did we also suspend evictions if we gave people the means to pay their rent?
I suspect that if we dug a little deeper. We would find that people aren’t staying home for a little extra money or in many cases less money. They’re “staying home” because they’ve moved on from their old job. #ny22
@RepStefanik and her Republican colleagues can focus on the $$$, but that probably doesn’t tell the whole story.
Of course it is easier than actually doing a little work and finding the problem and coming up with a real solution.
How many of the business owners that are complaining, are down right horrible people to work for. People found freedom and they aren’t going back to them?
How many people became self employed or independent contractors?
I would think, the issue comes down more to quality if life, job/boss satisfaction and how many people moved on to service work (Uber, door dash etc.)
How many households found life better with only 1 income and 1 person staying home?
A person that earned 20/hr full time before going on unemployment would be making 700/wk on unemployment. $100/wk less than what they made at their job.
This suggests the issue doesnt strictly come down to $$$$.
