I was approached last summer by several former University of Oregon women track athletes alleging they felt victimized by the program's data-driven approach to weight and body fat percentage. After a deep dive, this is what I found:

hello science twitter! if the pandemic took you out of the field/office this past year, did you revisit your past work from years earlier? for example, did you finally analyze that strange video? finally examine that weird fossil or that dusty data set? 🔬 my dms are open 🔬

Molly Seidel for bronze in the Olympic Marathon. It’s hard to convey how amazing this performance was. The field was stacked. The two who beat her have 2:17 and 2:14 marathon PRs. Molly’s is 2:25. An absolutely phenomenal run. Huge run.

I study the impact of CO2 on human health so I figured I would weigh in on this JAMA article purporting to show masks create high and unsafe CO2 exposures for kids. (spoiler alert: they don't) (I'm not linking to the study because I'm certain it will be retracted) THREAD
